Horti-Herb
The Horti-Herb has been developed to keep potted herbs healthy and fit, and to present them nicely during their stay in supermarkets, greengrocers, tearooms and restaurants.
Recognisable? You buy a pot of herbs at the greengrocer's or supermarket, cut off a few sprigs and put them on a saucer in the kitchen window. A few days later, there is often nothing left.
The Horti-Herb has been developed to keep potted herbs healthy and fit during their stay in supermarkets, greengrocers, tearooms and restaurants. The compact design of the Horti-Herb means that it takes up little floor space and no less than 16 standard herb pots fit on one layer. The energy-efficient LED lighting with its sophisticated spectrum, plus a layer of water in the water tray, ensure that the herbs grow, and therefore stay alive.
Depending on the desired application, one or two LED units can be placed in the Horti-Herb. For long stays and multiple harvests, such as in tearooms and restaurants, a higher light intensity is desirable and two LED units per layer are recommended. In vegetable shops and supermarkets with a high turnover rate, one LED unit per layer is sufficient.
Advantages for the sellers of the herbs: In addition to a nice presentation of the pots, there is much less wastage of the weaker herbs. Think for instance of basil, celery and coriander. Also, the herbs will have a longer shelf life with the consumer, which will stimulate repeat purchases.
